A splash screen is the very first screen that is displayed when an application is loading. A splash screen can optionally be displayed for a specified period of time (in seconds). The viewer can bypass the splash screen by depressing the escape key on their keyboard. Figure SS-1 is but one example of the types of splash screens that can be displayed when your catalog is loading.

Loading Progress Bar
A Loading Progress Bar can be optionally displayed on the opening splash screen. This is a standard style graphical loading bar that fills as the application is loading. Figure SS-1 shows a completed loading progress bar.
