Categories

A category breakdown is the method that allows you to logically group your products.  For example you can assign each product a unique description and allow it to fall under any of the following subcategories:

-  First Level
            -  Second Level
                        -  Third Level
                                     -  Fourth Level

The Category menu is totally collapsible in a typical windows style format as shown in Figure C-1

The Category menu is displayed on the left side of the screen with the unique product page being displayed on the right half of the screen.

Below is an example from the BeadBabe.com Catalog after a category has been selected and highlighted:

Figure C-2

By clicking on a given Category or Sub-Category or the Browse Items button, the corresponding contents of the Category will be displayed in the lower right half of the screen.  In the example above (Figure C-2) the option to show a textual description of the Category’s content was selected and shown in the upper right corner of the screen. Optionally, a picture maybe inserted into this field in lieu of the textual description.

Individual items or products are displayed in the lower right section of the page.  The display area includes a thumbnail picture of the item, which is automatically created by the Priceless software and the product number or product identification.  The scroll bar on the far right will allow the viewer to preview all products in this Category.  There is no limit to the number of items in any given Category or Sub-Category.

To View the individual item the viewer can simply double click on the item number or thumbnail picture with the resulting screen being shown.

The viewer is now given the option to continue to view each item in the Category using a scroll bar in the left half of the screen by choosing it from the list on the left or using the “<<<<” button to view the previous item or the “>>>>” button to see the next item.

If the viewer would like to see an enlarged picture of the item (assuming that a larger format picture is available), it can be viewed by simply clicking on the picture.  Figure C-4 is an example of the enlarged picture display area.

Simply clicking on the enlarged picture will return the screen to the original state.

The last button on the page is the ”Add to Shopping Cart” button. By clicking on this button the individual item displayed will be added to the viewers shopping cart.  See Shopping Cart Section for more detailed information.
